The semi-automatic CombiLock high-security lock has successfully been recertified by VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH, one of Europe’s leading certification and testing bodies, in accordance with the latest EN 1300:2023 standard. Compared with its predecessor, EN 1300:2018, the latest edition of the European classification standard for high-security locks introduces more stringent requirements, particularly in the area of cyber security.
New Standard with Enhanced Requirements
Compared with the previous edition, EN 1300:2023 introduces a number of technical enhancements and more stringent requirements. These include:
The encryption requirements for Class B contactless code carriers have been increased from 64 bits to a minimum of 128 bits. Locks with a communication distance exceeding 15 cm must additionally be tested in accordance with EN 17646 (Distributed Systems). The corresponding requirements have been removed from EN 1300 and incorporated into this new standard.
The revised standard also introduces minimum requirements for security event logging, together with updated provisions governing local firmware updates.
The most significant changes concern enhanced protection against electronic attacks. The standard now explicitly requires resistance to interception of the communication channel, replay attacks, basic brute-force attacks, side-channel attacks, spiking attacks and the optical observation of codes.

CombiLock is opened by entering a six-digit PIN followed by a 90° turn. It is available in several versions offering up to 50 user profiles, dual control (four-eyes principle), opening delay and security event logging.
The VdS recertification confirms that, within the scope of its functionality, CombiLock fully complies with the testing and security requirements of the new EN 1300:2023 standard.
